This vitamin is essential for blood clotting (stopping cuts and wounds from bleeding). it may also help maintain the bone strength in people as they age.
You can get vitamin K by eating foods such as leafy green vegetables like kale, spinach, turnip tops, spring greens, Swiss chard and green-leaf lettuce.
You can also get this vitamin by eating vegetables such as Brussels sprouts, broccoli cauliflower and cabbage.
The body also produces its on vitamin K within the intestine.
