Thiamine is also known as vitamin B1 and this helps to convert carbohydrates you consumed into the energy you need.
Deficiency of thiamine is usual caused by the abuse of alcohol due to binge drinking and can cause fatigue and in severe cases beriberi.
Beriberi is the lack of thiamine pyrophosphate which is the active form of thiamine.
Thiamine can be found in whole grain foods, eat, fish, poultry, eggs, milk and milk products, green leafy vegetables, potatoes, legumes, orange and tomato juices.
